Coming back on the resounding success of the 5th PSEA 2017 in Manila, we are proud to bring you the 6th edition of this regional leading power event taking from 25-26 Jan. 2018 in Manila, the Philippines. The Philippine power landscape is evolving at a fast pace in the past few years with more and more emphasis being put on the energy sector. However, due to the arduous approval system of energy project, additional power capacity build up is falling far behind the country’s growing demand.
On June 28, 2017, President Duterte signed an order to streamline the process for big-ticket energy projects approval from 3 years to 30 days, sending out a clear message of the government’s strong commitment to eliminate red tapes and create favorable investment environment to strengthen the country’s energy capacity for a sustainable future.
Philippine Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi said that energy project approvals used to take up to three years, and he explained that the shift was meant to hasten the expansion of the nation's power capacity to meet growing demand. "Because of the need, we have to build our capacity fast," Cusi said. "So in 30 days, investors can be assured that they can implement the project."
The 6th PSEA 2018 is an ideal place for you to gain the latest market intelligence of Philippine power market in the past 12 months through this two-day highly interactive and informative agenda. We look forward to welcoming you in Manila in January.
